Simple Clamp-Multidirectional Roll Clamping and Roll Thrust Profile Monitoring

摘要

Operation and installation of Simple Clamp in existing rolling mill applications will be reviewed. A detailed explanation of force characteristics (vector analysis) is also provided.Features of the Simple Clamp include: capturing and trending of roll thrust force profiles inherent in rolling mill applications; hydraulic preloading of clamping studs to prevent stud failure caused by inadequate torquing; shortening of roll change times; and early warning of pending rolling mill problems (i.e., chock incorrectly installed, pending bearing problems, etc.).
