Highlights ? Argon beam coagulators can cause argon emboli when applied directly to a vascular bed. ? Argon emboli are less soluble than carbon dioxide or air emboli and therefore potentially more harmful. ? Left lateral decubitus positioning can help mitigate the hemodynamic changes observed after argon embolus.
