The security plays a vital role in modern technology with threat detection in networks which are puzzling problems. The Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is considered as a defense structure to provide a security in Mobile ad hoc network (MANET). Therefore, it is crucial to transpirenovel techniques for intrusion detection because of the relevance of MANET. It is a set of wireless network in which each node in the network can disseminate the information with other nodes without the support of any predetermined infrastructure. It is an infrastructure less network so itis very arduous mechanism to envisage the genre of topology. Due to an inexhaustible access, it is more susceptible to many attacks. One of the hazardous attacks is black hole attack. This attack always promulgates a forged route to the destination for communication. So the traditional behaviorof a network will be disturbed and the network performance also may be despoiled. Besides, many security methods have been developed to ascertain the exceptional attitude of a node. But the existing methods are not effective to provide a security to this ad hoc network. So, in this paper aCluster Based Intrusion Detection System (CBIDS) have been established to classify the misbehavior node from homogeneous and heterogeneous environment. Simulation results improves throughput and packet deliver ratios and diminish the packet drop ratio.
