The speedy development in wireless communications has put in to a vast demand on the consumption of new wireless services in both the licensed and unlicensed frequency spectrum. Hence, the Spectrum sensing is essential for better utilization of spectrum and to prevent interference withother users. On the other hand, the detection performance is suffered by multipath fading, shadowing and receiver uncertainty issues. To alleviate the impact of these issues, cooperative spectrum sensing has been developed to improve the detection performance by exploiting spatial diversity.Hence the performance of cooperative spectrum sensing for different number of CR users in cognitive radio over fading channels such as Rician, Rayleigh and Nakagami is studied and evaluated using MAT-LAB simulation. Hard decision combining fusion rule (OR-logic; AND-logic and MAJORITY-logic)is performed at fusion center (FC) to make the final decision about the presence of PU.
