Intrusion of Maxillary Posterior Teeth to Correct a Severe Anterior Open Bite

Skeletal anterior open bite is a complicated malocclusion mainly characterized by downward and backward rotation of the mandible and overgrowth of the posterior dentoalveolar segments, resulting in an elongated vertical facial dimension and a steeper mandibular plane. Treatment is challenging because of the difficulty of reducing the height of the posterior dentoalveolar region.
