Car market off to a good start: Carmakers start 2014 West European car sales year with glass half full

Improved January car sales data says that Europe's car recovery growth, which only started late last year, is continuing. New car sales in Western Europe rose by 4.6 per cent to 897,100 last month as recovery growth spread to most markets. Just five of the 18 countries regularly tracked by AID failed to match last year's January turnout. Without exception, compared with the same month a year earlier, last month's car sales were up in all major markets.
