New car sales in Germany, Europe's biggest market, have now risen for twelve out of the past fourteen months. Drawing attention to the comparatively healthy state of underlying consumer confidence, and despite the handicap of one fewer selling day and this year's Easter holiday falling into March, Germany's March car market still ended with an unchanged 322,913 units. The better than feared March turnout brings Germany's first quarter car sales to 791,424, up 4.5 per cent over last year's comparative turnout.
