Volkswagen Group, after raising last year's global vehicle sales by 5 per cent to a new historic high of 10.217 million vehicles, still found itself narrowly pipped at the post by Toyota. In a photo-finish, last year's global vehicles sales gap between the faster gaining Volkswagen Group and Toyota in the winning position, shrank to a diminutive 14,000 sold units.
