摘要

The wettability between different molten salts and a graphite anode was studied using the sessile drop method, and the effect of the wettability of the anode on the reduction of titanium dioxide was also investigated. The results indicate that KCl exhibits superior wetting of the graphite anode, and that the addition of KCl improves the wettability of graphite by CaCl2-based mixed molten salts. The amount of KCl added should be controlled due to its poor oxygen solubility. The results of the electro-reduction of TiO2 in different molten salts demonstrates that the wettability of the anode by the molten salts greatly affects the deoxidation efficiency. Better wettability of the graphite anode by molten salt could accelerate the deoxidation rate of TiO2.
