North America propelled a healthy 4% gain seen in global jet fuel con- sumption in October. Liftings in the big US market climbed by 3%, while Canadian usage surged by 44% to 212,000 b/d as airlines including low- cost Norwegian added long-haul flights across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. European growth was tepid at just 1% amid shrinkage in the UK and France, which was partly offset by 4%-5% gains in Germany and Italy.
