Along the G-Code Way: GCMC GUILLOCHE ENGRAVING

Many decades ago, I spent countless hours drawing patterns with my Spirograph, turning gears within toothed rings and sometimes even completing a pattern without skips or smears. Unknown to me at the time, intricate rose engine lathes were engraving similar patterns, known as Guilloche, on metal dies used to create postage stamps, currency, and official seals.
