A container ship that will be able to operate without any crew is being launched in Norway next year to replace 40,000 annual diesel truck journeys. The 70m-long vessel will re-route itself around any obstacles, and will be loaded and unloaded automatically. Two Norwegian companies have announced plans to build the world's first fully electric and autonomous container ship, which will be able to navigate without needing any crew.
