摘要

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic, recurrent, inflammatory disorder of the hair follicles in anatomic areas rich with apocrine glands such as the axillae, groin, and buttocks.1 Patients with HS develop subcutaneous nodules that can rupture spontaneously or coalesce into deep, painful abscesses, resulting in fibrosis and formation of sinuses.1 Incision and drainage (I&D) is sometimes performed when patients present with acutely painful, fluctuant abscesses, with the resultant wound left to heal by secondary intention. In some cases, these open wounds will develop hyper-granulation tissue (HT) and become chronic wounds.
