Water & wastewater: Mining company finds new option

When a French mining company needed to pump viscous slurry out of a holding tank and into a retention pond 800 m away at a height of 6 m, it decided on peristaltic pumps manufactured in Auxerre, which can transfer slurry longer distances. Sables et Mineraux SAS, a subsidiary of Quartz Mineraux, is one of the most prominent mining companies in France and has a network of quarries across the French countryside. In early 2017, Sables et Mineraux opened its newest mining operation near the small town of Livry, located about 270 km south of Paris.
