IAQ: BESA marks Clean Air Day with urgent call for better IAQ awareness

Greater emphasis should be placed on the negative health consequences of poor IAQ to match the level of concern about outdoor pollution, according to BESA. The building engineering association said on Clean Air Day (8 October) that the Covid-19 pandemic had highlighted the importance of ensuring a supply of clean air into homes, offices and other buildings. A call to build awareness and more effective policy governing IAQ is seen by BESA as being particularly important at a time when clean air campaigns and programmes remain largely focused on outdoor pollution.
