Spain is braced for turbulence ahead of the October introduction of a new regulatory framework governing use of its six LNG import terminals. The existing system,in place for at least 20 years, has long been criticized for being expensive, inefficient and out of line with the rest of Europe(WGI Nov.14'18).The new regime is designed to boost competition and bring down prices, but Spanish sources suspect it will be some time before it's fully up and running. Some details still need to be fleshed out, creating uncertainty for companies active in the EU's second-largest LNG importer in 2019.
