SPOT LNG Asian Prices Drop on Post-Summer Demand, Europe Holds Steady

Spot LNG prices in Northeast Asia fell 100 to $6.15 per million Btu on a mix of healthy supply and slowing summer demand, according to World Gas Intelligence assessments of cargoes for delivery four to eight weeks ahead. In Southwest Europe, spot LNG prices held at $5.30/MMBtu. The UK National Balancing Point day-ahead price was assessed 210 higher at $5.66/MMBtu, while September futures rose 140 to $5.66/ MMBtu. Netbacks for Mideast sellers in Asia were over 800 higher than in both Southwest Europe and in the UK/Belgium.
