Fires Prove New US Climate Flash Point

Horrifying images of wildfires ravaging the western US have been anecdotally credited with boosting US voters' interest in climate change over the past few years. The fires, along with hurricanes and other extreme weather, are graphic illustrations of the consequences of failing to address global warming. Coronavirus may also be preoccupying voters, but the deadly rash of wildfires in California, Oregon, Colorado, and other western states has gotten plenty of airtime during the US presidential campaign.
