Have breeding birds of the Rothenbruch pine tree forest (Northern Vosges) changed in 25 years?

Fifty years ago Camille FERRY started quantitative ornithology in France and took along to illustrious disciples Jacques BLONDEL and Bernard FROCHOT... I have tried, at my own modest level, to follow their footsteps in carrying out, from 1978 onward, quantitative surveys of the breeding avifauna in varied wooded habitats of the Northern Vosges. Camille FERRY regularly supported my works and honored me with his participation to my PhD vivo in 1985. About ten years ago he visited me in the Northern Vosges and we walked the vast Rothenbruch pine forest, location of the study described in the following pages. This paper is written in his memory.
