BARRY HASELOCK (1929-2018)

BARRY 'BAZ' HASELOCK, who has died aged 89, was a legendary figure in the air-cooled VW scene of the 1970s and 1980s, and for many owners he was the first person to call whenever technical help was needed. Born in Wolverhampton, Baz did national service with the REME and worked extensively in various jobs that taught him everything he needed to know about vehicles and engines, before setting up a workshop in Cheylesmore, where he began specialising in Volkswagen repair work.
