摘要

Congratulations, you have finally made it through and come out the other end! And so, the task of finding your first job begins. My hope is that that you may find some useful information in this article to both help you find your first position and some tips on what to ask your potential employer. Firstly, you need to decide what you are looking for:do you wish to continue studying (residency/ internship)?do you wish to work here or abroad?have you a preference with regard to companion animal/large animal/equine?All of the above options have pros and cons regarding pay, requirement for out-of-hours (OOH) work and, when considering large animal work, mandatory tuberculosis (TB) testing (most graduates will already have undertaken the TB course run by the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine, if not, this is something that you need to consider).
