Like humans, dogs are living longer and, similarly, may not always age successfully. Owners expect good healthcare for their senior pets, quite rightly considered members of the family. Incorporating a cognitive function score in geriatric clinics isa means of identifying dogs predisposed to cognitive dysfunction earlier in the course of this gradually progressive neurological decline allowing for a better understanding of the implication of management strategies.
