This article gives a brief overview of bimetal steam trap construction and functioning. It also highlights the limitations and advantages of various types of steam traps for general understanding. It describes how the total cost of ownership benefits the user in minimizing the steam loss in the piping system due to selection and appropriate use of steam traps, especially the bimetal steam trap.
