Plea for Geo-mining Conditions including Mining Rock Mechanics as a main part of the science of Mining Engineering

摘要

In the field of Geo-mining Conditions the deposits of mineral resources and their surrounding rock mass are treated as the materials and the workshop of the mining engineer. It considers the entirety of all properties given by the nature of the earth's crust which determine the products of the mine or the production methods and processes, including competing influences. Rock mechancis is a main part of it. Geo-mining Conditions are relevant to both mining techniques and mineral economics. Accordingly, the focus is not on genetic problems, as is usual in geoscientific deposit geology. -The author is dealing with the theme of this article - as shown in the list of references - since some conclusions and proposals in his final speech of the Third World Mining Congress 1963 in Salzburg. This congress had the motto "Science and Technique in the Fight for Safety in Mining". - This paper is discussing his topics in four chapters: Introduction, About Mining Sciences in General, About the Structure of Geo-mining Conditions, Final Remarks.
