MKT: Statistics-LCV Bus: LCV bus sales, production and exports fall in Q4/2019-20

India-Sales of light-duty vehicles (7.5t &below) declined by 37.6% to 10,099 units in the January to March (or the fourth quarter (Q4)) of FY2019-20 down from 16,176 units in Q4/2018-19. Production decreased by 36.2% to 9,960 units from 15,612 units, while exports decreased a massive 51.9% from 1,267 units to 610 units. No manufacturer in any segment recorded a positive result! The minibus segment with more than 13 seats (GVW ≤ 5 tons no. of seats including the driver exceeding 13) saw domestic sales fall by 26.3% to 3,634 units in Q4 of 2019-20 from 4,931 units in Q4 of 2018-19. Exports contracted by 58.6% and production decreased by 14.1%.
