Sweden/Indonesia - Following the launch of the Volvo B8RLE chassis with locally-built Laksana body at Busworld Asia in Jakarta in March 2019, Volvo Bus Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden, announced that earlier this year it had arranged a test drive of the bus in Surakarta City on Java Island, Indonesia. The aim was to showcase features of the Volvo B8RLE, a bus specially designed for city transportation. The bus has low entry, a high passenger capacity and easy accessibility for the disabled and elderly people. It is equipped with Volvo's D8 engine, an 8-litre common rail diesel producing 330hp and up to 1,200 Nm of torque. It also comes with Volvo's electronic braking system with disc brakes all round, all round air suspension and kneeling function. The bus can also be specified with Volvo I-Coaching, a connected service that gives instant feedback on driving performance and helps the driver to drive more safely, fuel efficiently and comfortably.
