Commission fines Scania EUR880m for participating in truck cartel - Scania to appeal

Belgium/Sweden - The European Commission has found Scania AB of Sodertalje, Sweden, part of Volkswagen Truck & Bus GmbH, guilty of breaking EU antitrust rules. The European Commission (EC) claims Scania colluded for 14 years with five other truck manufacturers on truck pricing and on passing on the costs of new technologies to meet stricter emission rules. The Commission has imposed a fine of EUR880,523,000 on Scania.
