Brazil/China - BYD do Brasil, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BYD Co Ltd in Shenzhen, China has announced that April 6 will see it inaugurate an electric bus chassis plant in Campinas, Sao Paulo State, as well as a photovoltaic solar panel production unit. This inauguration marks its previously announced intentions to build electric buses in the country. (It was back in 2015 that BYD said it was setting up operations in Campinas, but due to the crisis it has taken time to start production).
