MKT: Statistics-Bus: Bus and coach market collapses in first quarter of fiscal year 2020-21

India-The large bus market (>7.5t gvw) during the first quarter (Q1 ie April-June) of the financial year 2020-21 was severely hit by the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic falling by 97.7% to sales of just 236 units from 10,321 units in same quarter of the year 2019-20. Total bus production decreased by 95.1% from 11,017 units in Q1 of FY2019-20 to 535 units in Q1 of FY2020-21. Export sales of buses dip by 87% in Q1 of FY 2020-21 to 202 units from 1,555 units in the Q1 of the year 2019-20.
