BIZ: Strategy/Agreement/Manufacture TECH: eDrive-HFC: Daimler pushing hard towards series production of hydrogen fuel cells

Germany/Sweden/UK-Daimler Truck AG of Stuttgart, Germany, through its subsidiary, Daimler Truck Fuel Cell GmbH & Co KG, says it is pushing hard towards series production of fuel cells. Daimler says experience gained over the past 10 years has given it extensive knowledge of fuel cells as well as in development of the methods and processes needed for their production. Daimler says it is now using this experience in a preliminary stage ahead of moving towards future series production. Daimler announced investments were now being made in new state-of-the-art facilities covering every single process stage of fuel cell production from membrane coating and stack manufacturing to the production of fuel cell units.
