摘要

This paper presents the results of an experimental and analytical investigation on the effect of wear and friction on the wetting characteristics of metallic surfaces. The analysis takes into account the plastic deformation of the surface asperities and implements the load-sharing concept to treat the mixed-lubrication behavior from the transient stage (during the running-in period) to the steady wear. The prediction results are then used in the Cellular Potts model (CPM) to calculate the contact angle values. Laboratory experiments with a water-lubricated disk-on-disk configuration were conducted to assess the evolution of surface roughness and contact angle. The comparison of the measurements and the prediction show good agreement in trend and magnitude.
