MEP Markus Ferber and Rigdon battle cheap tyre imports from Asia

Imports of cheap tyres from China have proven a real challenge for the retreading industry in recent years. This situation has developed even though retreaded tyres are "absolutely in keeping with the times," as notes Gunter Ihle, managing director of retreader Rigdon GmbH and member of the Senate of Economy Europe, a voluntary association of individuals from the fields of economics, science and society who are "entirely aware of their responsibility towards state and society." That is why Ihle invited Markus Ferber, Member of the European Parliament and German politician, to the Rigdon plant in order to illustrate 'at the coalface' the situation within the retreading sector. Yorick M. Lowin, managing director of German tyre trade and vulcanisers association the BRV, BIPAVER representative Michael Schwammlein and Bernd Horger, owner of Rigdon GmbH, also took part in the meeting.
