摘要

Cash incentives could be offered to motorists not to drive through roadworks if the UK follows an example from the Netherlands. Behavioural psychology and the concept of 'nudging' people towards making better decisions are behind a Dutch practice of improving traffic flows through work sites. Known as 'Spitsmijden' the approach sees motorists receive a financial reward for agreeing not to travel on a stretch of road at a particular time of day. The hope is to help reduce congestion and make drivers happier.
