Garden cities revival now needs to grow

Britain's new Government urgently needs to start building a fresh generation of large planned settlements with good transport links if the nation is to tackle its shortage of affordable homes, according to a leading planner. Town & Country Planning Association's garden cities and new towns policy manager Katy Lock says: "We cannot meet our growth needs on a plot by plot basis alone; we need to think holistically and create new communities based on 21st Century garden city principles.
