Bus strategy needed, hears Tory fringe

Establishment of a long term national framework and investment strategy for buses was urged at another Conservative conference fringe event on tackling pollution and congestion. Urban traffic, increasing journey times and rising fares are all contributing to a decline in bus patronage in many parts of the country which, the event heard, will only lead to worsening congestion and pollution.
