Huge operation sees Ouse Bridge bearings replaced

Over 200 bridge bearings are being replaced in a major two year scheme to ensure the ongoing safety for motorists on the Ouse Bridge in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The structure - over a kilometre long - carries M62 traffic over the River Ouse and flood plain including heavy goods vehicles heading to and from the port of Hull. It was built between 1973 and 1976 and has not had its bearings replaced since.
