Vision set out for shared mobility

Customers of car hire service Uber Pool who share trips with strangers to enjoy reduced fares could soon benefit from faster and more direct journeys by beginning their travel with a walk to a nearby pick up spot, delegates to CIHT's conference heard. The service known as 'Express Pool' is to be launched in London, the company's head of new mobility Fred Jones told a session on technology. He explained that the service involves a customer walking up to 200m from their start point, so their car journey takes fewer detours and is therefore cheaper.
