On average, 13 people a day are killed on the job or die from injuries sustained on the job in the United States, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics. There are 8,000 recordable injuries on average, every day.OSHA defines a recordable injury as "Any injury that requires medical treatment beyond first aid, as well as one that causes death, days away from work, restricted work or transfer to another job, or loss of consciousness." These numbers don't include other injuries where people just receive first aid. If you factor those in and the impact incidents have on the families of those workers who are injured, you get an idea of how staggering those numbers are.
