Maintenance.Certainly, that's a takeoff on a well-used expression, but it's the best way to put it. Fifty or more years ago, one could run a piece of equipment until it required attention - or broke - then give it the attention it needed. But no more. The advancement of technology that has allowed specialization and applications not dreamed of two generations ago won't allow that, especially with lifts that put personnel in the air. One simply must "pull maintenance," as the military expression goes, or pay the consequences.
