Neuroscientists have proven whatmay seem obvious to some - hu-mans are hardwired at birth as herd animals. Finding secure membership and a sense of belonging in one or more "tribes" is essential for our brains to feel safe and relatively free from threats. To perform at our best, it is essential to have others around us who have our backs, who can share the load and who we can predictably rely on. Sadly, a healthy "tribe" is not the norm in most workplaces - which is why about 70% of employees report being disengaged at work. In fact, it is the single biggest reason why employees quit.
