Experiments were conducted in 1996 and 1997 in Behera Governate, Egypt. Vines were irrigated during 2 stages of fruit development (stage 1 from late February until veraison or stage 2 from veraison until ripening) with 100, 75 or 50% of the rate applied to the control. Bud fertility was highest when the 100% rate was applied during both stages. Fruit yields were also highest in this treatment and declined if irrigation rate were reduced during either fruit development stage. However, deficit irrigation increased TSS and juice sugar content. It also increased leaf chlorophyll a content. Data are tabulated on leaf N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn and Zn contents for each treatment.
