摘要

Cuts in manufacturing costs represent a major priority for producers of industrial minerals. Due to the fact that, as a rule, over 70 percent of the electricity required for preparation is used in the grinding plants, it is vital to investigate their efficiency levels and bring them up to the state of the art. Examples of the retrofitting and optimisation of classifier grinding plants with ball mills to the latest standard, demonstrate the potential available relating to improved performance and energy savings. These are essential for a reduction in production costs. Using high efficiency classification technology, innovative detailed solutions (pre-classification, selective pre-grinding, etc.) and optimised mill equipment, grinding systems using ball mills will continue to represent an economic solution, particularly for the fine grain sector; with regard to efficiency, operational safety and plant availability.
