CANADA: Rio Tinto Curtails Activity at the Lac Tio Mine & at the Sorel-Tracy Smelter

In addition, RTFT produces up to 200,000 t.p.a. of Atomet metal powders and up to 500,000 t.p.a. of Sorelsteel at the Sorel complex. In June 2020, RTFT celebrated the 70th anniversary of operations at the Sorel metallurgical complex. For full-year 2019, RTFT produced an estimated 836,000 tonnes of primary slag and RBM produced an estimated 500,000 tonnes. Rio Tinto's attributable slag output (counting 100% of RTFT's output and 74% of RBM's output) amounted to 1.206 million tonnes for full-year 2019.
