BASE RESOURCES: Future Growth Hinges on the Toliara (Madagascar) Project

Assuming a positive financial decision in September 2020 to go ahead with the $US 442 million capital investment, shipments of finished products from Toliara should commence in December 2022. Over the first 27 years, production from Toliara is expected to average: 814,000 t.p.a. of ilmenite; 7000 t.p.a. of rutile; and 55,000 t.p.a. of zircon. Acquiring and developing the Toliara resource was seen as the best way to fully capitalise on the company's capability and experience accumulated from working at Kwale.
