According to TZMI, China's TiO2 pigment output has increased at an average rate of 9.1% per annum from 1.06 million tonnes in 2009 to 1.95 million tonnes in 2016. This means that output exceeded domestic consumption by about 500,000 tonnes last year. Net exports amounted to 569,000 tonnes, with exports assessed at 786,000 tonnes and imports assessed at 211,000 tonnes.
