KENMARE: Zircon Market Cools Off in 2019, Following Two Hot Years

Describing zircon market conditions for the 2019 Annual Report, Mr Cillian Murphy said: "The zircon market faced challenging conditions in 2019, following two strong years of growth, and prices of zircon products moderated as a result. Despite this, Kenmare shipped a record 50,300 tonnes of primary zircon in 2019, representing a 9% increase compared to 2018. We also successfully introduced a new mineral sands concentrate product to the market in 2019, resulting in a large increase in the volume of other products (secondary zircon plus mixed concentrate) shipped - 38,900 tonnes, versus 27,000 tonnes in 2018.
