摘要

At the 2018 Movin’ On conference,Michelin made the case for a dramatic change.The traditional production model is very linear.Products are produced,consumed and then disposed of.As a result of the anticipated growth in the automotive sector there will be increased demand for raw materials in finite supply,such as natural rubber,steel and petroleum feedstocks used in the production of synthetic rubber.Therefore,we need to introduce a new circular production model that is less dependent on primary materials.Michelin is investing in advanced technologies with the goal of increasing the sustainable materials content of its tires from 28% today to 80% by 2050-50% will come from renewable materials such as natural rubber and synthetic elastomers generated from biomass,and 30% from the recycling of steel and rubber.
