Reflection into the recent past: 'Assessing the foundations and furnishings of the house we have built thus far'

Halfway through my time as the Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious South African Archaeological Bulletin (SAAB), I wish to use this editorial to reflect on the journey thus far, a journey that began in 2015 when I was first appointed in an acting capacity before the position was formalised on a five-year period. With three years in the position and four issues published under my leadership, it is an ideal time to reflect back.
