UK Plan To Replace EFSA Post-Brexit Leaves Industry With Unanswered Questions

Plans by the UK government to set up a new committee for as- sessing health claims for food supplements in the event of a no deal Brexit are lacking in detail, according to industry groups. If the UK leaves the EU without a deal on 29 March, the govern- ment intends to set up a new Nutrition and Health Claims Com- mittee (UKNHCC) which will be responsible for scientifc substan- tiation and providing advice to the four administrations of the UK on any new nutrition and health claims made post-Brexit.
