摘要

Study on polyculture of major carps with koi (Anabas testudineus) was performed during the month of March to September 2009 in beel Simulia and Baelai located at Kaliganj upazila in Gazipur district to observe the comparative growth and production offishes cultured. Catla (Catla Catla), Rui (Labeo rohita), Silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix), Common carp ( Cyprinus carpio) Mrigal {Cirrhinus mrigala) and Koi (Anabas testudineus) were stocked in the beels. The production from the beel Simulia (78.04 ha) was 353.41 Kg/ha and from the beel Baelai (141.70 ha) was 444.45 Kg/ha/crop. The production was not so good in beel Simulia due to improper management. Among the species, Rui was the most dominant species contributed highest percentage to the total fish mass production. The catla also contributed highest percentage to the total yield than the rest of the species. The presence of catla adversely affects silver carp. In the present study, polyculture of major carps with koi was conducted with improved supplementary diet adjusted according to body weight. From the study, it was found that high stocking density, inexperience of the culturist, fingerlings from inbreeding, scarcity of food, competition for food among the individuals of same species,competition among the species of same water layer, short culture period and using of small fingerlings etc. might cause low production.
